AAL League

RULES

AAL can change or add rules in specific (special) cases that might not be covered by the existing rules in order to preserve the spirit of fair competition and sportsmanship.

REGISTRATION

- At least 5 players are required to register a team;

- You must register two captains and have an account on toornament.com;

- Both captains should have an account on the AAL website;

- You can register up to 5 substitutes if you want for a total of 10 players;

- A player can only register to one team in the same competition;

- Players can't register if they received a ban within the last year;

- If you played in past competitions, you will have to continue using the same nickname in-game, otherwise your current points will not add up to past competition’s points on the ranking page in the AAL website.

- During the 2 week Christmas break, teams will have the opportunity to make changes to the roster.

- During the competition, teams are allowed one change to the roster, but the player will only be able to compete after the next scheduled match is played.

GENERAL RULES

- All communications between teams regarding a match must happen in the match chat (check videos here) on Toornament, and it has to be done before Thursday;

- You must play with the exact nickname and tag submitted during registration;

- To better organize AAL casts, cooperation is needed from both teams, which means that in certain cases the match time can be moved in order to fit with the streaming schedule;

- Teams cannot refuse for their matches to be casted;

- Spectators in the server are not allowed unless it’s AAL staff;

- In the event of:

- kicks from the server

- computer/game crashes

- problems causing the server to stop

  Recommended actions:

- call for a pause after the end of the round;

- the team with the issue has to announce the reason of the pause to the other team;

- the maximum duration of the pause is 10 minutes, after which the team won’t be allowed to pause the match for a second time, unless the other team sportingly grants them the opportunity to do so;

- the round should be restarted after un-pausing the match using the console command “adminrestartround”.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

- The league format will be round robin with playoffs.

- The default match day and hour is Sunday at 20:30 CET;

- Teams are allowed to move a match if both agree, otherwise it has to be played at the default day and hour;

- Matches are played in a 5v5 format;

- Matches can only be played with no less than 4 players per team;

- Maps are played in a best out of 16 rounds format;

- Round time is 3 minutes;

- Discarding the first round is allowed in order to check if everything is good on the server;

- The teams are given 10 minutes to join after the defined match time, if a team does not show up in said time, the match is considered a 6-0 win for the opposing team;

Ping Rule

- You cannot play a match with a ping higher than 150;

- If the average ping of teams is higher than 30, the away team can propose to play in another server (AAL servers can be used). To calculate the average ping, you must exclude the highest and lowest ping of each team;

- For any given match, the home team will be the one higher in the standings.

- All weapons/utilities are allowed, with these limitations:

M249 - 1x team

Shotgun - 1x team

League

- Best out of 1;

- No substitutions;

- Maps are pre-defined for each week on the website, so they can’t be changed;

- The furthest you are allowed to delay a league match from the default date is 2 days;

- The league’s points system is as follows:

Win = 3 points

Tie = 1 point

Loss = 0 points

- If 2 teams have the same amount of points in the standings, the tiebreaker is, in this order:

1. The head-to-head result of the 2 tied teams

2. Round difference

Playoffs

- Best out of 3 (first to win 2 maps wins the match);

- Substitutions only between maps;

- A map ends when either team wins 9 rounds, if both teams win 8 rounds, it’s a draw, in which case overtime has to be played;

- Overtime is played in a best out of 6 rounds format, the first team to win 4 rounds wins the map. There is no limit to how many overtimes can be played;

- Away team has side choice first map, home team has side choice in case of overtime, away team in case of second overtime, and so on;

- Home team has side choice second map, away team has side choice in case of overtime, home team in case of second overtime, and so on;

RESULTS

- The captain of the home team is responsible to insert the result on Toornament but both teams are responsible for it to be correct. Provided screenshots will be used to confirm the submitted result.

- Screenshots are required at all times, take one screenshot of the final result and one of pings and post them in the report section on Toornament’s match lobby;

- The ping screenshot has to be taken by the home team;

- Not sending the screenshots could result in a penalty for both teams;

- The winning team has to post the screenshots of the results in the report section on Toornament’s match lobby. This does not mean that the losing team does not have to take the screenshots. Both teams are required to do so.

ANTICHEAT

- MOSS and DEMORECs are mandatory for all matches, files must be held for 2 weeks;

- The team that provides the server must have activated DEMOREC;

- The team that provides the server must send the DEMOREC of the match within a week to the Mega link which can be found on the AAL website under the “My Teams” section;

- Team captains must upload all of their team’s MOSS files within 24 hours after the end of the match to the Mega link which can be found on the AAL website under the “My Teams” section. If you send the MOSS files after 60 hours from the end of the match, it will count as not sent;

- Be careful showing sensitive information while moss is working, it captures a screenshot of all your monitors every 120 seconds, it will log every open process in your computer and will also log information about the computer itself. Please do not delete screenshots. If MOSS has captured anything personal that you don’t want anyone to see, send the file directly to the AAL director, not through your team captain.

- If you were to encounter any issues with MOSS, you must take screenshots or videos of the problem and send it as evidence. If problems repeat systematically it will count as if you didn’t send it.

- You can ask for revision of DEMORECs, you will have 3 opportunities to do so, if we decide that nothing in the DEMOREC is suspiscious, you will lose 1 opportunity. If we come to the conclusion that something was indeed suspiscious, you will continue to have 3 opportunities for revision. Let it be known that AAL will always revise all MOSS files and DEMORECs.

PENALTIES

- If a player tries to tamper with MOSS files, they will get disqualified from the competition;

- If a player is caught cheating, they will get a 1 year or lifetime ban from AAL, depending on what cheats were used. All prior matches played by said player will count as a loss;

- If two or more players of the same team get caught cheating, the team is immediately disqualified from the competition;

- If you purposely use glitches to your advantage:

- If a team plays a match using an unregistered player:

- If a player does not use the exact same in-game nickname and team tag that was registered on Toornament:

- If a player does not send MOSS files

- If more than 1 player in the same team does not send MOSS files

-If a player sends MOSS files late

- If  1 player or more in the same team sends MOSS files late
